Sleaford Striders Policy on Paying for Courses
In order to properly operate as an athletics club it is imperative that Sleaford Striders has properly qualified coaches and volunteers who have attended properly accredited courses at various levels and functions. This is not restricted to purely running but does include first aid, safeguarding, equality and diversity as well as race director and traffic management. The list continues but will have a bearing on the proper function of the club.
A member who wishes to attend such a course and be supported by the club must have at least one full year as a member of Sleaford Striders.
Sleaford Striders must have a need for such a course that is suggested.
The member must commit to using their qualification for the benefit of the club for a minimum of one year after attending the course.
Should a member who has been sponsored for a lower level qualification such as Leader in Running Fitness must wait at least one year before requesting sponsorship for a next level course such as Coach in Running Fitness and demonstrate that they have used the lower level qualification for the benefit of Sleaford Striders.
Sponsorship for a course will be considered by the full committee or a quorum of four members including the treasurer in cases of short notice.
Such sponsorship would cover only the cost of the course not travel or accommodation except in exceptional circumstances.
At the conclusion of the course a copy of the relevant license or certificate will be kept with the Clubmark file.
