Sleaford Striders Couch to 5k Programme

Since 2015, Sleaford Striders’ Couch to 5k has helped people take their first steps into running in a friendly, supportive environment. This evening course runs over seven consecutive weeks and is based on the NHS Couch to 5k programme, delivered by UK Athletics–qualified trainers.

Open to Everyone

Whether you’re completely new to running or just getting back into it, this course is for you. Open to anyone aged 18+, there’s no need to join Sleaford Striders to take part. We start gently and build up week by week, making it suitable for all fitness levels. Training as a group boosts motivation, builds confidence, and—most importantly—makes it fun.

Running isn’t just great for physical fitness; it’s also proven to improve mental wellbeing and self-confidence.

When & What You’ll Need

Sessions take place on Tuesday evenings, with registration at 17:50 and a 18:00 start. All you need is comfortable clothing, suitable trainers, and readiness for whatever the weather brings.

Cost & Extras

The course is available for a simple flat fee, and everyone who completes the programme receives a FREE t-shirt as a celebration of their achievement.
