Junior Handicaps

What’s Involved?

Handicaps generally consist of a series of 3 – 4km races through-out the summer months.

Athletes set off at a schedule according to ability, with faster runners having a later start time and therefore a larger ‘handicap’. In theory everyone would be finishing together.

The challenge is to run faster each time, and pass more people, in an attempt to become the first home.

Points are awarded based on your finishing position, meaning anyone has a chance of winning the series.

The Course

Races are generally run off site, and require a number of marshals.

We try to ensure there is always at least one marshal in sight for reasons of safety and to offer moral support.

If you are interested in volunteering to marshal, please speak to one of the Juniors Coaching Team.
